WE ENGAGE COMMUNITIES ON A LEARNING JOURNEY IN HISTORY AND SCIENCE

Scout Field Trips at Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum of Discovery

Badge Workshops & Overnights

If your scouts are like past groups, they'll recall their scouting experiences with fond memories of impactful learning experiences that positively influenced the direction of their lives. There's something special about a scouting workshop or overnight at Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium. Sloan and Longway are two iconic institutions offering scouts and their leaders unique and engaging badge programs. If you haven't been to Sloan recently, the new Sloan Museum re-opened in 2022 after a four-year renovation and expansion. It is now nearly twice the size as the former Sloan, and was re-imagined as a hands-on science and history interactive museum with four primary spaces and one gallery for special rotating exhibitions. The new Sloan was named "Attraction of the Year" in 2023 by the Flint & Genesee Explore Group.

Longway Planetarium is Michigan's largest planetarium with state-of-the-art graphics and audio for spectacular programming in astronomy and science.
