As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (listed under Flint Institute of Science and History, tax ID # 82-2978635), Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium hold three main fundraisers per year which offer various levels of creative sponsorships. There are also sponsorship opportunities for exhibits and educational displays throughout the museum and planetarium including:

• Great Lakes Water Table upgrade campaign
• “Take-A-Seat” Planetarium Seat Sponsorships
• Astronomy Light Box image sponsorships for the Planetarium
• Planetarium show sponsorships
• Traveling Exhibit sponsorships (Traveling Exhibits for 2025 or “2theXtreme” and “Hall of Heroes”)
