Free Hands-On Workshops

Planning a museum day? Don't forget to drop by the Discovery Lab maker's space, located within Discovery Hall!  Planned hands-on activities and supplies are available weekly from our floor staff and educators to engage and inspire parents and children alike. Or, grab some materials and let your imagination take the lead - the Discovery Lab is stocked full of arts and crafts, a 3D printer, Legos, and MORE! These workshops are completely free, included with Museum admission.

Discovery Lab Maker's Space Hours:

Tues - Thurs: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Fri - Sat: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: Noon - 5 p.m.

June Lego Club | Art Challenge

Date: Saturday, June 8, 2024
Time: 10-11:30 a.m.
Location: Discovery Lab Maker Space in the Sloan Museum of Discovery

Join us for another Lego-building adventure! In the month of June, let's create art and let Legos be the canvas! Lego clubbers will get to choose an art concept - whether its a favorite photo, flowers, your favorite animal or even a family portrait! Bonus challenge: Can you use different sized blocks to make a textured art piece?! Join us! Lego club is FREE, included with museum general admission.

Books & Stars | Historical Book Club

Monthly Book Clubs
When: Every 1st Wednesday & Thursday of the Month
Location: Longway Planetarium | Sloan Museum of Discovery

Join us for monthly book clubs, taking place on the first Wednesday of the month at Longway Planetarium, and the first Thursday of the month at Sloan Museum of Discovery! Books & Stars books will be astronomy-related, and Historical Book Club books are all affiliated with Genesee County's storied history. Book club is FREE, pre-registration is recommended.
