Early Childhood Gallery (Ages 0-6)

An Interactive child-sized neighborhood from mid-century America with roundabouts for tricycles, shops, a post office, supermarket, ambulance, playhouse, and a charming three-story tree house. This gallery is located at Sloan Museum of Discovery and is free with general admission.

FREE FAMILY NIGHTS

Celebrate the seasons with your senses! Early On of Genesee County and the Sloan Musuem of Discovery have partnered again to offer free family fun to the community. Our monthly events will include at least 2 hands-on activities relating to the seasons, exploration of Hagerman Street Gallery and the Discovery Hall’s Water Table, book giveaways, and dinner. These events are kindly recommended for families with children aged 0-5 years-old. Older siblings are welcome to attend.

Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium offer a variety of Early Childhood programs that are in alignment with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Birth to Kindergarten domains – Approaches to Play and Learning; Social and Emotional Development; Physical Development and Health; Communication, Language, and Early Literacy; Creative and Expressive Arts; Mathematics; Engineering and Technology; Science; and Social Studies.

These programs include Family-Based Playgroup Programs, Hands-On Science, Storybook STEM and Planetarium shows.

In addition to our programs for students, we also offer Early Childhood Professional Development Opportunities for educators and caregivers.
