Change Starts Here – Sloan Museum Celebrates America 250

Curated especially in celebration of America 250, Sloan will feature a timeline-based exhibit with artifacts, text panels and graphics highlighting significant events in Genesee County and how they influenced national events. Exhibit will be on display in the Sloan Museum circulation corridor all hours that the Museum is open.

This exhibit is FREE for Genesee county residents; included with Sloan General Admission for non-residents

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, we recognize the important historical events in Genesee County that were shaped by—and helped shape—the direction of our nation. To honor and explore this rich history, organizations throughout the county have created special events for this historic event, including exhibits, lectures, festivals, tours, and more taking place throughout the summer.

PASSBOOK

The America 250 Passbook lists the participating organizations and venues that have joined together to celebrate this special milestone. Visit these locations between May 1 and September 30, 2026 and collect stamps after each visit - all while exploring the history, culture, and community of our region along the way. Those collecting 5 or more stamps are eligible for the following prizes:

• 5 STAMPS: Receive a custom 3-D printed commemorative token with the Genesee 250 logo.
• 10 STAMPS: Receive a struck metal commemorative collectible coin featuring the America 250 logo and Genesee County star on the reverse side.
