MLK Day 2017

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. We commemorate as well the timeless values he taught us through his example — the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr. King’s character and empowered his leadership. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit.

On Monday, January 16, 2017, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr, there will be free admission to Sloan Museum and Buick Gallery. At Sloan Museum, visitors can play in Wisner’s Whizbang Emporium gallery and explore Flint history in our permanent galleries. The Buick Gallery’s exhibit Proof of Concept features four legendary Dream Cars, and also the production models they inspired.

Longway Planetarium will have shows at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Admission to see a show will be $6 adults, $4 senior (60+), and $4 youth age 2-11.
