The Buick Automotive Gallery and Research Center is home to the Perry Archives, Sloan Museum’s repository of all-things Flint and Genesee County. With more than 150 years of history, our collection is quite diverse!
Flint’s automotive heritage is well represented in the Sloan*Longway Collection. In the Perry Archives, our automotive materials span Buick Motor Company’s history from 1902 to 1999, as well as literature, manuals, press packets, and photographs. Chevrolet and Durant Motors materials are also available. Although we do not have materials for every car made, we have information to assist restorers, collectors, and enthusiasts alike. Visit our Automotive Research page for more details.
We are proud to maintain a large variety of materials pertaining to the people and cultures of Flint and Genesee County. Business records, school posters, photos of Saginaw Street—we have something for every interest! Visit our Local Research page for more information.
Due to a major project Sloan Museum has undertaken at Courtland Center Mall, the staff time needed for research is limited. Therefore we are only able to review inquiries and set up appointments on Wednesdays.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this time of transition. For research inquiries and appointments, please contact the Curatorial Assistant at Collections@sloanlongway.org or (810) 237-3421. Emails are encouraged.
