General Information

  • Deadlines for fees are 2 weeks prior to the event date. Space is limited and some dates fill up quickly. EARLY REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
  • Fees are non-refundable.
  • Registration is also available online at SloanLongway.org.
  • Registration is first-come, first-served.
  • With the exception of our Family Fun Night events, we request that no siblings or infants accompany the participant.
  • All workshops at Sloan Museum include museum admission. Leaders may want to schedule time to explore the museum on their own after their workshops.
  • A small snack will be provided during the workshops. Evening snack and light breakfast are provided during the overnights.
  • All workshop/overnight participants receive a certificate of participation. Leaders are responsible for obtaining the actual award from their local council office.
  • More information regarding overnights will be sent with your confirmation.

Daisy Workshop

Clover-Use Resources Wisely

Date: Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Arrival 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm)
Location: Longway Planetarium
Fee: $10.00 per person
Max Registration: 45 people

Enjoy a reading of Clover’s Story and then talk with your fellow Daisies about all the ways that Clover used resources wisely. Make a collage using old magazines, craft supplies, and recycled materials. Make a pot out of newspaper, and plant seeds to take home while learning how gardeners and farmers use resources to grow plants. Does not include a planetarium theater show.

Brownies Workshops

Bugs

Date: Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Arrival 12:30 pm-1:00 pm)
Location: Longway Planetarium
Fee: $10.00 per person
Max Registration: 45 people

Alongside our Planetarium Pets, scouts will draw a bug poster to be displayed in the Longway classrooms, create a bug box, look at different types of bug homes, use magnifying glasses to look at our bugs and use their imagination to build a bug of their own to take home! Does not include a planetarium theater show.

Juniors It's Your Planet - Love it! Leadership Journey

Juniors Workshop

Date: Saturday, May 20th, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Arrival 12:30 pm-1:00 pm)
Location: Longway Planetarium
Fee: $10.00 per person
Max Registration: 30 people

Explore, help design, and plant the Longway Planetarium garden! Learn which plants will grow best in your area by testing soil samples. Find out how variations in soil, sunlight, and water can affect your garden. Plant a “fairy garden” to take home with you. Weather permitting we will be working in the garden, please bring a rain jacket just in case! Does not include a planetarium theater show.

ALL SCOUT FAMILY FUN NIGHTS

These Scout events are open to all Girl and Boy Scouts as well as their families.
Does not need to be a troop/den group activity.
