General Information

  • Deadlines for fees are 2 weeks prior to the event date. Space is limited and some dates fill up quickly. EARLY REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
  • Fees are non-refundable.
  • Registration is also available online at
  • Registration is first-come, first-served.
  • With the exception of our Family Fun Night events, we request that no siblings or infants accompany the participant.
  • All workshops at Sloan Museum include museum admission. Leaders may want to schedule time to explore the museum on their own after their workshops.
  • A small snack will be provided during the workshops. Evening snack and light breakfast are provided during the overnights.
  • All workshop/overnight participants receive a certificate of participation. Leaders are responsible for obtaining the actual award from their local council office.

Sky is the Limit

Date: Friday, April 28th – Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 am (Arrival 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm)
Location: Longway Planetarium
Fee: $26.00 per scout and $10.00 per adult
Max Registration: 100 scouts

Explore the wonders of the night sky, and learn about the tools astronomers use to see the planets and stars. Design, create, and name your own constellation. Meet our Planetarium Specialist, and learn about different jobs related to astronomy. Watch an exciting show in our planetarium theater! Meets requirements: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8


Wolf Cub Scout Workshops

Air of the Wolf

Date: Saturday, March 25th, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Arrival 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm)
Location: Longway Planetarium
Fee: $10.00 per person
Max Registration: 45 people

This amazing adventure is all about air! Wolf Cubs will conduct science investigations about the weight of air and air temperature, and build their own paper airplane. Explore moving air and sound, and create a musical wind instrument. Build a kite using simple materials, and learn how to fly a kite safely. Does not include a planetarium theater show. Meets requirements: 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 4

Date: Saturday, April 22nd, 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00pm (Arrival 12:30 pm - 1:00pm)

Explore the world while making fascinating musical instruments and learning all about sound! Mbiras, sistrums, and rain sticks are just part of the fun! Does not include a planetarium theater show. Meets requirements: 1, 2, 3
